On Jan. 21 and 22, an event known as “Passport to Success” took place to make students aware of services that are on campus to help them to excel with classes. “Sometimes students can be intimidated,” College Writing Center Supervisor Fran Hooker said. “So this way they know we’re not scary.” Many staff members hope to have students come in use their specific service. Many of those services consist of the college writing center, computer labs, library use, academic advising and many more. “I think it’s great. It puts most of the campus services in one spot so they can at least meet someone to see what’s out there, “ Hooker said. “The goal is hopefully to have students come in to actually visit us in person.”
