According to the Associated Press, FOX News and MSNBC, Republican Candidate Donald Trump has won the 2024 Presidential Race. He secured victories in enough key battleground states, including the important battleground states of Pennsylvania and Wisconsin early in the morning hours on Wednesday, to get the minimum of 270 votes needed to win. Two swing states are still counting votes, but there are no combinations left that would get Vice President Kamala Harris to 270 votes.

This victory makes Trump the second President in history to serve two non-consecutive terms. The only other President to do so was Grover Cleveland, who served from 1885-1889 and 1893-1897.

Trump won re-election despite controversial rhetoric again being a centerpiece of his campaign, and despite early polls showing he was losing ground in swing states. A convicted felon, Trump is still scheduled to face sentencing in New York City in a “hush money” case later this month. Other charges and investigations against him that he faces on the federal level are now uncertain.

For the first time in his electoral history, he also appears to have won both the electoral college and the popular vote.

Trump will take office once more on Jan. 20, 2025, with Ohio Senator JD Vance being sworn in as the Vice President.
