The St. Louis Community College Board of Trustees voted in a closed executive session on Saturday not to extend Chancellor Myrtle Dorsey’s contract, which runs through June 2014. The motion would have extended Dorsey’s contract to 2015.
The motion was unsuccessful, however, with a 3-3 vote. Trustees voting in favor of Dorsey were Craig Larson, board chairman, Melissa Hattman and Doris Graham. Those opposing Dorsey’s extension were Libby Fitzgerald, Hattie Jackson and Joan McGivney.
Under the Sunshine Law, closed session votes must be made public within 72 hours. The session was closed because it involved personnel matters.
Dorsey’s current contract remains in effect until June 2014.
