KIRKWOOD — The Montage, St. Louis Community College – Meramec’s student newspaper, was recently recognized with 33 awards by the Missouri College Media Association. The organization announced award winners of its annual contest at the conclusion of this year’s conference on April 12, 2025, at the University of Central Missouri.
The Montage received 1st place wins for the Back-to-School Magazine and categories including News Writing, Feature Writing, Investigative Reporting, Sports Photography and more. The 1st place win with the Sweepstakes Award recognized the staff for receiving the most awards in the Division 4 category.
The Montage staff competed against several other two-year school newspapers from across the state including newspapers from the STLCC-Forest Park campus. Entries in the competition were judged for general excellence by professional journalists and members of the Missouri Press Association.
The Montage has consistently won awards for excellence in student journalism at the state and national levels for many years. Recent awards include national recognition from the Society of Professional Journalists with a Mark of Excellence Award and a Pacemaker award from the Associated Collegiate Press.
The Missouri College Media Association awards won by The Montage staff in the two-year school division.
