Dazzling, Radiant, and Exquisite

Or, how to not describe the “Diamond Trilogy” by Elizabeth Hayley

The “Diamond Trilogy” is a mini novella series that was written by author-duo Elizabeth Hayley for James Patterson’s “Bookshots” imprint in 2016. The story is written in third person, and follows Siobhan (Pronounced “suh-bahn”), and Derick. Siobhan is a struggling artist that is trying to get recognized in the art world, and she is working at some sort of millionaire’s restaurant. She runs into someone, both metaphorically and literally, that will do many things for her throughout this book series.

If there was a main character I could name that I hate the most, it would be Siobhan.

The reason why I say this is because I see her as someone that is stuck in her ways and not willing to change. Without spoiling the series, she wants to do everything herself and does not want to accept any help from anyone.

And this is a big reason why there are three books instead of one.

If she would just accept help in the first book, we wouldn’t have a second or even a third book.

Which leads me to the second book in this series.

The second book is hookups and a plot twist at the end. That’s it.

The third book is when things turn for the good, and she accepts some help, but only after a small talk with some of her friends. When I mean small, I mean it only took half of a chapter to convince her what she needed to be convinced of since book one.

After she realizes that and after some drama between the characters: Happily ever after.

This series is a lame excuse for a money grab. The series only shows that it could be one book instead of three, and shows that not all main characters are made equal.

I would give this book series a 1 out of 5 stars. No, not just for book two, but as an overall rating.
